STRATEGIC PARTNERS (18th
-21st Dec.2007)
In pursuance of its policy of forging strong and relevant
strategic partnerships, Union Trust Bank has between
the 18th and 21st December 2007, hosted Messrs Ben Zwinkels,
Senior Investment Adviser of FMO, The Netherlands, and
Mr. Stephen Antwi-Asimeng, Managing Director of Fidelity
Capital Partners (Venture Capital and Private Equity
Fund Managers) based in Accra, Ghana.
The main purpose of the visit is to establish strong operational
partnerships with the bank. They have also discussed the
possibility of partnering with the bank in the acquisition
of Finance Salone, the largest microfinance institution
in the country. During this visit, the team has also been
appraising a US$4.5 million domestic gas project to be
jointly financed by their institutions and other local
investors.
Both institutions are desirous of
making serious interventions in the various projects
being promoted by the bank.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER BECOMES NEW SECRETARY TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC
OF SIERRA LEONE
We are pleased to inform our customers and well-wishers
that the Chief Executive Officer of Union Trust Bank Limited,
Mr James Sanpha Koroma has been appointed as the new Secretary
to the President, by the President of the Republic of
Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma.
Mr Koroma who is a successful banker and former Governor
of the Central Bank of Sierra Leone will also serve as
the Principal Adviser to the
President. Sierra Leoneans are not surprised by his appointment
because of his stance on issues of national interest and
his disciplinary nature.
Citizens believe that a seasoned administrator, banker,
investor and civil servant like Mr James Sanpha Koroma
can contribute immensely to the development of this country.
